Story

Côté Provence is owned by Julie and Erik Barbey.  Julie is the manager of the store at Rathdowne Street and sources all the new products. Erik is the principal buyer of the second hand & antiques and runs the warehouse, which is located in Colebrook Street Brunswick. 

Most of the furniture and linen in the store is sourced directly from France. The circa of the items is from approximately the 1850’s till the 1960’s.

Having been an antique dealer for 30 years Erik has an extensive knowledge of antique furniture and being French he knows the French market and has suppliers all over France.

Quality new products from other countries, that complement the look of the store, are also available.  Gorgeous hand made soaps, candles, jewellery and other goods are on offer.

The look of the store is very rustic and earthy with some bits of glam thrown in but in a subtle way.  There is an emphasis on natural colours with a dash of red or blue to add interest. Hours of love are poured into making the shop a visual delight and regulars are always commenting on the way the store evolves and changes every month. The displays tell a story and help customers find ways to make their home more inviting with a French twist.
